For the first time the E.ON managers met in the atrium at Brüsseler Platz in Essen to listen to the demo:day Pitches and discuss the innovative ideas of the startups. Eleven projects from the last :agile accelerator class pitched their ideas. Eight of these projects have their roots in the E.ON Group and three startups came from external. The ideas, all with energy focus, reached from energy sharing by using portable power banks to smart sensors for homes which help customers to reduce their energy cost, personalize comfort and improve health and increase security or new uses cases for competitive storage of hydrogen and its commercialization.
"For our startups the Demo Day Pitch is the highlight at the end of the three-month accelerator phase, " says Thorsten Marquardt, Managing Director :agile accelerator. “After the founders were supported by coaches, with know-how, seed capital and a broad network of partners, it is now a matter of securing the follow-up funding within the group. All teams are highly motivated to present their business model to the Executives and win them as investors to be able to go to market faster than the competitors.“
Additionally to the eleven projects from the accelerator class there were two closed projects from previous accelerator classes which pitched their so called “Fuckup”. In their ”Fuckup” presentation, the two project CEOs talked open and direct about the challenges they were facing and why they were not able to succeed.
The next :agile demo:day is scheduled for April 29. And it will be open to everyone who likes to invest in our projects. If you want to join please contact Inga. Bring a case full of money and see for yourself!
