:agile accelerator Launchpad is a one week boot camp for our early stage startups focusing on the critical topics product strategy and business development, user experience and user interface, technology, marketing and product presentation. Each day is dedicated to a specific topic and structured around overview talks and one-on-one mentorship sessions lead by top-notch external and internal mentors appointed by Google. The goal is to achieve a rapid progress in a very short period of time. And of course bring customer to a focus.

The Launchpad Week is designed to support the local ecosystem of startups and add value to existing accelerator and incubator programs. It runs in multiple countries on a regular basis, including Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Singapore and London.

Mentors

Launchpad Mentors

All the mentors present an outstanding level of expertise in their fields and have been carefully chosen and reviewed by experts from previous Launchpad events as well as Googlers´committee. We have mentors in areas of Product Strategy, User Experience and User Interface, Technology and Marketing. In addition, a number of other mentors will share their expertise on pitching, investment, legal matters and recruiting on the final day of the event.

Our Lead Mentors

These mentors have several years of startup experience and are experts in their area of mentoring. Additionally they are experienced mentors from previous Launchpads. They helped Google to evaluate startups and know exactly what the needs of a startups are and how to mentor well.

Tom Allison // UX/UI Day Lead-Mentor

UX Designer, Strategist and Team Builder

Tom is an experienced UX researcher, designer and manager with a strong preference for working as part of Agile development teams. He studied Human-computer Interaction for his Masters in Information Science from the University of Michigan's School of Information in 2004. Based in Berlin since 2006, Tom has worked with a variety of early-to-mid-stage startups and multi-national corporations.

I'm an Open Source addict, I maintain one of the popular Ruby projects (Capistrano) in the Rails ecosystem. I tech-mentored Google LaunchPad 2014. I mostly build backend services, focusing on DevOps, infrastructure and scaling. I love sharing what I've learned with people, even if they're new to technology, to help direct them down the path of least resistance to building something useful.

In Düsseldorf Derendorf the „mother of all coworking spaces“ is rising right now: The new hotspot for creativity and innovation is called super[7000] and according to managing director Silke Roggermann „It will bring together coworkers, foodies, freelancers, techies, creatives and makers.“

The venue was planned and designed by architects Karl-Heinz Petzinka, Philipp Bilke and Micky Damm. The :agile accelerator Launchpad Week is the first pre-opening event happening in march 2017.
