Electrocook

Electric induction stoves in Sub-Saharan Africa

Ewan Bloomfield

Over 3 billion people still rely on biomass resources as their main household cooking fuel in much of Sub-Saharan Africa. This is not only causing many environmental and health issues, but biomass-fueled stoves are also highly inefficient.

However, Electrocook has designed a new efficient electric stove which is significantly cheaper to use than biomass-fueled stoves, as well as meeting local households cooking needs and being an aspirational appliance.
